HTC is one of the companies that still delivers major Android OS update despite its financial difficulties. Most of the company’s flagship smartphones launched last year have already been updated to Android 8.0 Oreo, so now it’s time for HTC to focus on slightly older devices.
It looks like HTC has picked the 2016 flagship to be the next handset to receive the highly-anticipated update. If you own an unlocked HTC 10 bought in the US, you should tap the “Check now” button and see if your smartphone is eligible for an Android 8.0 Oreo update.
Keep in mind that this is a sizable update at 1.8GB, so make sure you have enough storage and your battery is at least half charged. The probably comes with December security patch as well, but you’ll probably be more excited to try out some of the new features that come with Android 8.0 Oreo.
It’s yet unclear if Android 8.0 Oreo will be the last major software update received by the HTC 10, but the Taiwanese company is likely to clarify it once Google unveils Android P.
